History and Facts: Named for the area of southern Germany, this breed is a shorter, smaller version of the Hanover. It is also thought to be mixed with Tyrolean Hounds. It was originally bred during the Middle Ages to track large game.

Exercise: The Bavarian Mountain Dog requires daily brisk exercise. This dog is not appropriate for city life or apartment dwellers.
