History and Facts: Dating back to the 1600s in Artois and Normandy, this is one of the recognized French Basset breeds. The breed was first recognized in 1911.

The Basset Artesien Normand is a good-natured and obedient game hunter that tends to be a bit headstrong.

Breed-Related Health Concerns:                                                               Hip dysplasia, arthritis, ear infections. A healthier breed compared to other basset breeds.
