    History and Facts: This breed is named for Arteois region of France where it originated. This breed resembles large Beagles and is a descendant of a bloodhound. While quite old and quite rare, this breed was nearly extinct at the turn of the 20th century.

    The Artois Hound is an energetic, skilled rabbit hunter.
